v1.9 - Dynamic links, Routing Form additions & more…

Hello!

Welcome to our second product changelog newsletter. While August may not be the most productive month in the working calendar, with many taking much needed breaks across Europe and the US, we've still got a huge amount of small updates and improvements, as well as one big feature we’re really excited to release.

Dynamic bookings links

dynamic links

Create a booking link that allows people to book you and other people in the time it takes you to type a name. You don’t even need to go near the Cal app. Simply append the other person's Cal.com username onto your own link with a +. It’s that simple. Cal.com/peer+bailey is will show availability for Peer & Bailey and allow anyone to book both of them! You can add any number of people in a dynamic link.

Routing Form additions: Typeform, embed & webhook

routing-typeform

Last month we shipped routing forms, allowing you to ask screening questions of potential bookers to connect them with the right person or event automatically! This month we’ve got a lot of additions.

  • You can now use Typeform with routing forms.
  • You can now embed your routing form anywhere
  • Webhooks for when responses are submitted. If you’ve not tried out Routing forms yet you can add them from the App store.

Other improvements

Ping.gg App - New in the App Store We’ve added Ping.gg to our growing list of supported apps. Ping.gg makes high quality video collaborations easier than ever. Think "Zoom for streamers and creators". Join a call in 3 clicks, manage audio and video like a pro, and copy-paste your guests straight into OBS. Check it out in the App store.

Workflows - We’ve added dynamic variables for custom templates to make those automated emails more personal and clever including {Organizer name}, {Attendee name}, {Location} and more.

Lark Suite support - We’ve had some issues with CalDav integrations in the past, and one of them was that Lark Suite couldn’t be connected with Cal. This is not a problem anymore.

Markdown - Event description now supports markdown formatting. Our users can now add markdown to event descriptions. This means you can easily add links, bolds, italics etc.

UI updates - We’ve made some minor UI improvements across the app and our public pages. We switched from using your system font to using the famous Inter font and we’ve started using an open-source icon library called feather icons. Expect further improvements on this front in 2.0

HubSpot app - create contacts: We’ve added the ability to create contacts to the HubSpot app, whether all contacts are missing in HubSpot or just a few.

Self-hosted onboarding - We’ve improved the onboarding experience for self-hosted customers by including a step to create the first admin user (admin)

Team Impersonation - Admins/owners can now impersonate other people on their team. This setting can be enabled / disabled in Team settings.

[Fix] Canceling recurring events - When canceling a single event in a recurring event series, it was canceling all events and not a single instance. This has been fixed.

[Fix] Show error message when Workflow ID is invalid - Instead of endlessly loading, now we have a proper error message showing when workflow ID does not belong to the user or workflow does not exist.

[Fix] Prevent team members being able to create events. This fix disables the button on the dropdown to prevent users from creating events on teams.
